OU tops Coaches Poll; Aggies ninth

Well, as expected they would be, the Aggies will start the season in the top 10 of at least one major football poll, the coaches’ poll. Texas A&M was ranked ninth in the pre-season poll that came out today.

And the Aggies will be playing two other top 10 teams, including No. 1 Ranked Oklahoma and No. 8 ranked Oklahoma State. They also have No. 14 Arkansas, No. 21 Missouri and No. 24 Texas on their schedule.

The top 10 after OU is Alabama No. 2, last year’s National Championship loser Oregon third, LSU then Florida State. The next five are Stanford, Boise State, Oklahoma State, A&M and Wisconsin. Former Big 12 member Nebraska is 11th, last year’s No. 2 team TCU is 15th and last year’s National Champion Auburn is 19th.
