Saturday update:
Bryan police announce the driver who died was 21 year old William Zachary Elder of Mineral Wells.
Update Friday 9 p.m.
Wellborn Road in Bryan between the College Station city limits and the Old College/F&B Road intersection was closed more than four hours on Friday following a three vehicle crash that killed one of the drivers.
Bryan police report a southbound car was stopped to make a left turn into the Westgate Center when it was rear-ended by a van.
The impact pushed the car into the northbound lane, striking an oncoming Jeep and causing the Jeep to roll.
The driver of the Jeep, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected and killed.
According to BPD’s news release, the identity of the 21 year old man will be released on Saturday. That will allow the family more time to make additional notifications.
The other drivers were not injured.
The driver of the van was ticketed for failing to control speed and having no drivers license.
Update Friday 6:40 p.m.
Bryan police report one person died in a Friday afternoon crash on Wellborn Road in front of the Westgate Center between University and Old College. The roadway remains closed in both directions.
Another Friday afternoon crash on Wellborn Road was at the intersection of Rock Prairie, involving three vehicles and a Texas A&M bus. College Station police report no one was injured and there was minor damage. Officers were on the scene about 30 minutes.
