One Person Accused of 17 Armed Robberies

HOUSTON (AP) _ Authorities are looking for a man they say is responsible for at least 17 robberies of businesses in Houston since August.

Police say the suspect mostly targets gas stations in the west and north areas of the city, pretending to be a customer.

The suspect wears sunglasses and a baseball cap or hoodie and once he approaches the counter, he pulls out a black semi-automatic weapon and takes the cash inside the register as well as cigarettes.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 6 feet tall, weighing 180 pounds and having a full beard and mustache. After most robberies, he was seen fleeing the scene in a black two-door Fiat.
