One Hurt, One Arrested From Gunfire At Texas Southern University

HOUSTON (AP) _ A spokeswoman for Texas Southern University says one person is in custody after an on-campus shooting that left another person injured.

TSU Associate Vice President of Communications Eva Pickens says the shooting happened Wednesday night near campus housing, but neither the victim nor suspect live on campus.

She says TSU is “secure and fully operational” and was never put on lockdown.

Pickens says the victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition. She says police are working to identify the victim and the suspect, who were both males. It wasn’t immediately clear whether either is a TSU student.

Campus police are investigating.
