Officers responded to a residence in the 2500 block of Cross Timbers Drive off Southwest Parkway just before midnight after a citizen reported their neighbor’s residence had been broken into by an unknown male.
The suspect gained entry by breaking a rear window, but fled in a pickup truck before officers arrived on the scene.
The citizen provided an accurate description and an officer searching the surrounding area found 21 year-old, Garrett Clark Senter of College Station.
Officers learned Senter was an acquaintance of the victim and knew the victim was not home at the time. Senter was arrested and charged with burglary of habitation.

On 03/24/16 at about 2330 hours officers from the College Station Police Department responded to the 2500 block of Cross Timbers Dr in reference to a burglary of a habitation call. A citizen had called CSPD to report that an unknown male had just broken into their neighbor’s residence. The neighbor was not at home during this time. The suspect had gained entry into the residence by breaking a rear window. Before officers could arrive on scene, the suspect fled in a pickup truck. The citizen was able to provide an accurate description of the suspect and the truck. An officer searching the surrounding area located the suspect and the truck. The suspect was apprehended in the 800 block of Harvey Rd. Due to the citizen’s quick actions in notifying the police, the suspect was unable to remove any of the victim’s property. Officers also learned that the suspect was an acquaintance of the victim and knew that the victim was not at home at the time of the offense. Arrested and charged with burglary of a habitation was:

Burglary of a Habitation (P.C. 30.02(a)(1)) occurs if a person commits an offense if, without the effective consent of the owner, the person enters a habitation with the intent to commit a felony, theft, or an assault. Burglary of a Habitation is a felony of the second degree punishable by 2-20 years in prison and a fine not to exceed $10,000.
