Not Enough Rain To Lift Fire Ban

Two rounds of rainfall in the last month still are not enough to lift the burn ban in Brazos County.

But that hasn’t stopped rural landowners from asking County Judge Duane Peters. He says Sunday’s rains combined with storms from last month were still not enough to minimize the fire danger.

In a related item from last month’s strong storms, Peters says there water damage in the courthouse has been cleaned up. Peters says a little bit of carpet was replaced. He received no calls about water damage from Sunday’s showers.

Comments from Brazos County Judge Duane Peters, visiting with WTAW’s Bill Oliver.
