WACO, Texas – The fourth-ranked Texas A&M equestrian team concluded their team season with a 13-1 loss to No. 1 Georgia in the semifinals of the NCEA Championships Thursday at the Extraco Events Center. The Aggies finish the season with a 12-7 record.
Texas A&M returns to action in the event quarterfinals Friday. The No. 1 Fences squad faces off against UT Martin, while both the Reining and Flat teams square off against SMU.
Fences and Reining begin at 8:30 a.m., as Flat is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start. In Horsemanship, the Aggies take on Baylor, which is slated to begin at 3 p.m.
The Bulldogs (13-1) took an early 4-0 lead over the Aggies (12-7) after sweeping Horsemanship.
Georgia extended its lead to 6-1 after the day’s second event, Equitation Over Fences. Rachael Hake scored the lone point for the Maroon & White, defeating Emma Mandarino, 165-164. Rebekah Chenelle tied Addyson Cord at 168.
Texas A&M fell 4-0 in Reining. In Equitation on the Flat, the Aggies lost 3-0. Hake scored a 151 to tie Meredith Darst.
