No. 21 Texas A&M Falls To LSU 63-52

BATON ROUGE, La.- In a women’s basketball game that featured 14 lead changes and seven ties, LSU held off No. 21 Texas A&M 63-52 at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center Sunday.

 
With Texas A&M (11-4, 0-2 SEC) leading by a point with just over 3 minutes to play, LSU went on an 12-0 run to take control of the game. Khayla Pointer, who led the Lady Tigers with 22 points, scored 7 of 10 points in that stretch.
 
The Lady Tigers (10-4, 1-1 SEC) led 21-20 after a first half marked by the defensive play of both teams. The Aggies held LSU to just 25% shooting in the first half, and forced the Lady Tigers into 12 straight misses during a second quarter stretch.
 
Chennedy Carter had her second double double of the season, leading the Aggies with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Ciera Johnson added 13 points and eight rebounds.

The Aggies return to action on Thursday, January 10 at Vanderbilt, with tip set for 7 p.m. on SEC Network +.
