No. 20 Aggies in Second on First Day of Art Adamson Invite

COLLEGE STATION – The No. 20 women’s swimming & diving squad wrapped up its first day of the Art Adamson Invite. The Maroon & White took on Stanford, USC, LSU and Hawaii with A&M holding second with 306 points on the day.

The ladies earned multiple Olympic Trial cuts in the prelims. In the 200 LC IM, Caroline Theil clinched first (2:14.39), Anna Belousova earned second (2:15.86) and Jing Wen Quah placed fourth (2:15.88) all securing their cut times. Emma Carlton notched her cut in the 50 LC Free (25.84), claiming fourth.

In the 200 Free Relay, Carlton, Golf SapianchaiEmma Stephenson and Raena Eldridge secured third (1:29.63) and a NCAA B-cut. Karling Hemstreet and Joy Field earned their NCAA B-cut time in the 500 Free with Hemstreet earning sixth (4:43.55) and Field placing 11th (4:45.90).

Charlye Campbell secured third in the 1-Meter (300.05), Alyssa Clairmont claimed fifth (295.90) and Haley Allen earned seventh (291.90).

The events pick up again tomorrow, November 23rd, with prelims starting at 10 a.m. Dive finals begin at 3 p.m. followed by swim finals at 6 p.m. Follow on Twitter for updates, @aggieswimdive.
