COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) _ Khaalia Hillsman hit 10 of 13 shots for a career-high 22 points and No. 16 Texas A&M smothered Prairie View A&M 88-30 on Tuesday.
Anriel Howard came off the bench to score a career-high 14 points, hitting 5 of 6 shots, for the Aggies (10-3), who led 39-10 at the half. They last time they held an opponent to 10 points in a half was against the Panthers (4-5) two years ago in a 76-27 victory.
Hillsman scored six points in a 10-0 run that put A&M’s lead at double figures with 3:28 left in the first quarter. That run stretched to 21-1 into the second quarter.
The Aggies scored 37 points off 26 Prairie View turnovers, had a 40-31 rebounding advantage and had 22 assists on 34 baskets.
The Panthers shot 14 percent (4 of 28) in the first half and 23 percent for the game (23 of 53), making just 2 of 14 3-pointers.
