No. 15 Women’s Golf in Second After First Round in Oxford

OXFORD, Miss.- The No. 15 Texas A&M women’s golf team is in second after one round of the Rebel Invitational at the Ole Miss Golf Course. The Aggies shot an opening-day 289 (+1), one stroke behind tournament leader No. 24 Furman.

Sophomore Andrea Jonama led the Aggies with a 70 (-2) on the par 72 / 6,210-yard course, which puts her in a tie for second, one stroke behind tournament leader Josee Doyon of Kent State.

Two more Aggies shot par-or-better on Friday, with freshman Maddie Szeryk shooting a 1-under 71 to tie for seventh after one round. Sophomore Marijosse Navarro shot an even-par 72 to tie for 13th place after Friday’s action.

Sophomore Bianca Fabrizio shot a four-over 76 to tie for 48th after one round, and sophomore Thanya Pattamakijsakul shot a six-over 78 to tie for 65th.
