College Station ISD School Board Selects Construction Manager At Risk For High School Stadium Projects

College Station ISD school board members select who will be in charge of high school stadium renovations and additions that were approved in the May 2024 bond election. Facilities director Paul Buckner says it is the same construction company that has started projects at CSISD’s three middle school stadiums that were approved by voters in November 2023. The five to nothing vote, with Joshua Benn abstaining and Darin Paine absent from the meeting, gives permission to negotiate a contract. No information was shared about when construction will begin. Bryan City Council Agrees To Another Delay In An Annexation Request

For the third time, a home developer’s request to annex land into west Bryan has been delayed. The city council at its October regular meeting, granted the request from Paul Shepard, who said they are continuing an environmental study on what used to be a landfill north of the intersection of Pleasant Hill and Fred Hall Roads. Bryan’s planning and zoning commission previously recommended approving the annexation, where city documents shows around 400 homes would be built. A College Station City Councilman Says Possible Layoffs Are Coming At The Brazos County Health District

A College Station councilman who is on the board of the Brazos County health district shared at the end of the council’s October 7th meeting about the possible layoff of six employees. Bob Yancy said those employees through grant money to the health district that is expiring. Yancy also said the health district is preparing an audit regarding grant money that will be given to the College Station and Bryan city councils and the Brazos County commission, which also provides funding. And Yancy brought up the possibility of recruiting the College Station and Bryan ISD school boards and Texas A&M to provide money for the health district.
