No. 12 Aggie Softball Set for Pair of Midweeks

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 12 Texas A&M softball team carries its six game winning streak into a pair of midweeks hosting Houston on Tuesday at Davis Diamond at 6 p.m., followed by a trip to Sam Houston at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Tuesday’s game can be streamed on SECN+, while Wednesday’s game is streamed on ESPN+. All Aggie softball games can be heard on the 12th Man Mobile app or locally on Gospel 97.3 with Matt Simon as the play-by-play voice in his 10th season with Texas A&M softball.

INSIDE THE SERIES

Texas A&M (37-9) is 22-11 all-time against Houston (23-23), including a 13-5 ledger at home. The Aggies are 106-15 all-time against Sam Houston (17-26), including a 32-7 record in away games. The Maroon & White swept Houston in 2023 winning at home, 9-1, in six innings and then claiming a 9-3 victory in Houston. The Aggies already played the Bearkats earlier in the season winning 7-3 at Davis Diamond.

HOME OF THE 12TH MAN

Texas A&M boasts a 134-45 (.749) record at Davis Diamond since it opened on April 27, 2018, and are 23-2 at home in 2024. The 12th Man is regarded as one of the most dedicated fan bases in the nation. Texas A&M ranks No. 5 in the SEC and No. 10 in the nation this season averaging 1,818 fans a game and had a season-best showing of 2,331 on Feb. 24 which is the second largest crowd in Davis Diamond history.

NATIONAL OUTLOOK

The Aggies are ninth in the RPI ranking and boasts a top 25 ranking in all four nationally recognized polls, including No. 4 in Softball America, No. 11 in the NFCA and D1 Softball polls and No. 12 in ESPN/USA Softball rankings. Texas A&M is second in the country with 20 top 50 RPI wins and have the nation’s 17th toughest strength of schedule.

TWO-OUT TERROR

Texas A&M has terrorized opponents with two-outs ranking second with a .326 batting average and 120 RBI. The Aggies have scored 47% (140-of-296) of their overall runs with two outs, while 57% (63-of-111) of the runs produced in SEC action have come when facing two-outs. Jazmine Hill is a nightmare for opponents with runners in scoring position and two-outs registering a .478 batting average hitting 11-for-23 with 16 RBI. Most notably, the graduate is registering an astonishing 1.397 OPS with runners in scoring position and two outs, including two home runs, two doubles and four walks. Junior Allie Enright joins is in on the two-out mayhem batting .410 (16-of-39) with runners on-base, including a 1.362 OPS with five home runs and five doubles with 23 RBI.
