News release from Texas A&M Athletics:
AUBURN – The No. 11 Texas A&M men’s tennis team hits the road to take on the Auburn Tigers, Friday, April 12, at the Yarbrough Tennis Center with first serve set for 3 p.m.
“We are excited for the final weekend of the regular season,” head coach Steve Denton said. “Auburn is a very solid team, top to bottom. We played them early indoors at Clemson during the Kickoff Weekend. It looks like we will be playing them outside at their place with quite a few new matchups this time around. It should be a very good contest.”
The Aggies (18-7, 7-3 SEC) are looking to bounce back after losing a heartbreaker to Arkansas, 4-3, in Aggieland. The Maroon & White are led by two-time SEC Player of the Week JC Roddick, who has 24 wins on the season, and Raphael Perot who has seven ranked victories this year.
Texas A&M and Auburn (15-9, 5-5 SEC) met on Jan. 28, where the Aggies took down the Tigers, 4-2, at ITA Kickoff Weekend. The Maroon & White would eventually punch their ticket to the ITA National Indoor Championships after beating Georgia in the finals.
