INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 10 Texas A&M men’s swimming & diving team is set for NCAA Championships, March 27-30 at the Indiana University Natatorium. The Aggies qualified seven individual swimmers and four divers, while adding four relay swimmers to the championships roster for their four qualified relays.

Baylor Nelson returns to the championship meet having qualified in the 200 IM, 400 IM and 200 breast. He recently defended both of his IM titles at SEC Championships and brought home a silver medal in the 200 breast to secure his second Commissioner’s Trophy as a top scorer at the meet. Nelson holds the fourth-fastest time in the country in the 400 IM after going 3:38.05 at SECs, as well as the 10th-fastest time in the 200 IM (1:41.33). He also ranks 17th in the country with a time of 1:52.43 in the 200 breast. A three-time All-American, Nelson notched a pair of top-10 finishes in the IM events a year ago and was a member of the 800 free relay that placed 16th. His career top times in the IM events stand as the second-fastest in program history.

He also added points for the Aggies with a ninth-place finish in the 100 free, going 42.13, which is the second-fastest time in school history. Foote is a four-time All-American after posting a 15th-place finish in the 100 fly a year ago and contributing on a trio of top-16 relays.

Alex Sanchez had a breakout performance at SECs, lowering the school records in each of the breaststroke events, going 51.19 in the 100 and 1:50.36 in the 200. He medaled in all three of his individual events, claiming an SEC title in the 200 breast and earning silver in both the 100 breast and 200 IM. He holds the fourth-fastest time in the nation this season in the 200 breast and the ninth-fastest in the 100 breast, while also sitting in 24th with his time of 1:42.55 in the 200 IM from SEC Championships.

All four divers that qualified for NCAAs a year ago will return to the championship meet this week. Victor Povzner scored on both springboards last season, including a career-best sixth-place finish on the 1-meter. The five-time All-American and two-time SEC 1-meter champion is qualified on both springboards, along with Allen Bottego, who joined Povzner on the podium last year with an eighth-place finish on the 1-meter and recently brought home a bronze medal from SECs on the 3-meter.
