After the Texans struck first with a pair of runs on no hits in the second, Burton trimmed the deficit to 2-1 with a solo homer in the bottom half. The long ball marked the fifth in the last four games for the senior and his ninth of the year.

The junior’s fourth long ball of the year traveled 382 feet over the wall in left and had an exit velocity of 103 mph. Later in the frame, Jackson Appel extended the lead, 6-4, with an RBI single that plated Chestnut, who reached on a bunt single.

Kent stretched the Maroon & White lead to 9-4 in the fifth as the sophomore cleared the bases with a three-run double down the line in right.
