The new year could bring a new hotel to College Station.
This month’s city council meeting included approval of rezoning land on Texas between the Hampton Inn and Applebee’s.
The city’s Jason Schubert says about two acres of concrete slabs and vacant fourplexes will be cleared to build a four to six story hotel with a 600 square foot meeting room.

Since getting new zoning, owners of the Home-2-Suites have not asked city hall for permits to begin redevelopment.
Down the street, owners of The Plaza have also not requested permits to repair that property.
