New College Station Sewer Line To Be Built Through Parts Of Lick Creek Park & Pebble Creek Golf Course

Environmental and contractual questions were aired by College Station city council members at their last meeting before approving a nearly $11 million dollar contract to build a new major sewer line.

Assistant public works director Emily Fisher addressed concerns of building a major sewer line partially through Lick Creek Park. Fisher said the new line, using either 48 or 54 inch PVC pipe, will be built parallel to the existing line.

Fisher also says arrangements have been made where construction runs through Pebble Creek golf course where the course owner will be restoring their property.

Fisher also responded to questions about the qualifications of the low bidder. That’s after the council fired a different contractor earlier this year for not finishing a street, water line, and sewer project on Francis Drive.

Weather permitting, it will take almost one and a half years to build the sewer line from the Lick Creek wastewater treatment plant to Fitch.
