Bryan Police Arrest A Man On Multiple Charges From A Family Violence Disturbance

Bryan police responded around 1:30 Tuesday morning (March 31) to a family disturbance where 9-1-1 dispatchers heard a lot of screaming and a man yelling that he needed help. BPD arrest reports says 20 year old Dekaren Wallace-Alexander went to jail on charges of stabbing an uncle in the chest with a six inch long kitchen knife, biting the foot of his grandmother until he was struck twice in the face by an officer, then spitting at an officer that left saliva on the officers right arm, vest, and bodycam. A BPD spokesman says the uncle was treated for non life threatening injuries at an emergency room and the grandmother was treated at the home for her injuries. And online records show after Alexander was booked in the Brazos County jail, he has been charged by the sheriff’s office with assaulting a public servant. As of 11 a.m. Wednesday, or more than 34 hours after Alexander went to jail, a booking photo has not been posted and no bond has been set. A spokeswoman at the Brazos County jail told WTAW News “At the time of intake,” “Alexander was not in a condition that allowed staff to safely complete the standard booking process, including fingerprinting and photographing. The booking process is completed once an individual is able to fully comply with intake procedures. The delay in the availability of a booking photo is due to staff prioritizing safety and following established protocols. The process will be completed as soon as conditions allow.”

Punishment For A Former College Station ISD Campus Secretary Who Stole More Than $31,000 Dollars

A former secretary at College Station ISD’s College View high school has paid more than $31,000 dollars in restitution as part of her punishment for stealing money from the campus activity fund. The punishment given in Brazos County district court last Friday (March 27) to 58 year old Audrea Constancio of Bryan also includes up to six months in prison for what is known as shock probation. That’s after she pleaded guilty to felony theft and felony misapplication of fiduciary property. A spreadsheet provided by the prosecutor shows Constancio took money that was collected from Texas A&M football fans who parked at College View during the 2018 through 2022 seasons. The shock probation for felony theft was part of a ten year prison sentence. The shock probation for misapplication of fiduciary property was part of a suspended two year state jail sentence. The prosecutor in the case told WTAW News she asked for shock probation in order to be able to get the restitution. The prosecutor also said the probation department recommended Constancio be placed on probation with no jail time. The defense asked for deferred adjudication, which is another form of probation. At the time of Constancio’s arrest in September 2023, CSISD superintendent Tim Harkrider issued a statement that said in part “since discovering these campus-based accounting irregularities, CSISD has implemented additional procedures which will help prevent this from happening in the future.”

College Station City Council Awards A Water Well Construction Contract And Agrees To Discuss Merging With Other Local Water Providers

A College Station city councilman opens the door to the idea of possible merger talks with nearby water providers. Bob Yancy raised the subject during the last council meeting (March 26) during discussion before a unanimous vote to award a $28 million dollar contract to drill three water wells. At the end of the council meeting, Yancy gets support to discuss at a future meeting, the possible merger of water providers. The water well construction contract also includes more than two miles of water lines between the three new wells and the line that will go to the city’s existing distribution line. The $28 million construction contract is part of an overall project budget of more than $70 million dollars. The project began last year and must be completed by August of 2028.
