From College Station Medical Center:

College Station Medical Center (CSMC) announced today the appointment of America Farrell to Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. America has served as interim Chief Operating Officer of the hospital since late August.

“I’ve enjoyed supporting this exceptional group of physicians, employees and volunteers, and I’m honored to join the team on a permanent basis,” America said. “College Station Medical Center is one of our community’s most established healthcare resources and has been providing high quality care to this area for decades. We will continue to build on the foundation our dedicated caregivers have established.”

America has over 30 years of healthcare experience. She was previously CEO of San Angelo Community Medical Center in San Angelo, Texas. Prior to that, she held leadership positions at several other hospitals, including Tomball Regional Medical Center in Tomball, Texas, Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado, Arkansas, and DeTar Healthcare System in Victoria, Texas. She has most recently served in a consulting role, providing leadership expertise to other hospitals in the region.

“America Farrell is a grass-roots type of leader that started in the trenches and has continued to push great health care for the patients and staff in every position she has enjoyed. Her clinical background along with her executive experience have helped the hospitals she’s served expand services in their community, enhance the delivery of quality care and improve experience the patients have had,” said Cal McNeill, CSMC Board of Trustees Chairman. “I look forward to working with her and her contagious energy as we respond to the healthcare needs of College Station.”

America began her career as a nurse and has worked in several in clinical capacities. She holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Missouri Kansas City and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from University of Phoenix.
