Navarro, Szeryk Named Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-Americans

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla.- Texas A&M women’s golfers Marijosse Navarro and Maddie Szeryk were named Second Team All-Americans by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association on Friday. This marks the first time Texas A&M has produced two All-Americans in the same season.

Navarro, a sophomore from Mexico City, earned her second WGCA All-American selection after earning second-team honors a year ago. Navarro set a Texas A&M single-season record and ranked fourth in the nation with a 71.80 scoring average. Navarro finished the NCAA Championships tied for 21st in the tournament.

Szeryk, a freshman from Allen, earned her first WGCA All-American honors, after setting a Texas A&M freshman record, and ranking sixth in the country with a 71.86 stroke average. Szeryk ranked second in the nation with 127 birdies and led the nation with five eagles.

With Navarro and Szeryk’s All-American honors this season, Texas A&M has now produced 13 All-Americans, including eight in the past 10 seasons.

The Aggies won the 2015 SEC Championship and finished 18th at the 2015 NCAA Championships.
