COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M Aggies catcher Mitchell Nau was named the Warstic Texas Collegiate League Player of the Week on Monday for his efforts with the Acadiana Cane Cutters from July 30-August 4.
It marked Nau’s second TCL Player of the Week accolade and the third time an A&M player has earned the award this summer. Logan Taylor was named player of the week on July 8.
In six games on the week, Nau hit .520 (13-for-25) with seven runs, nine RBI and two stolen bases. He logged seven extra-base hits, including two home runs. Nau notched a .530 on-base percentage and .960 slugging percentage for the week. He capped off the six-game stretch with a pair of four-hit performances.
With Acadiana this summer, Nau has played in 45 games, registering a .337 batting average with 32 runs, six home runs, 33 RBI and nine stolen bases.
