College Station Utilities crews are restoring power from a variety of outages. The locations are east of the Earl Rudder Freeway and between University and Emerald.
CSU’s Jane Sayers says the outages started around 3:10 p.m. Wednesday. An estimated 2,200 customers were without power at one time or another. 500 customers had no power for about 30 minutes.
Sayers says the causes of the outages included electric breakers being tripped, lightning strikes, and at least one pole being knocked over during passing storms.
Sayers says heavy winds forced a tree into powerlines causing outages in Woodcreek and Foxfire subdivisions.
