Fry also reported there were 198 events in the twin cities, which generated more than 91,000 visitors, who purchased more than 67,000 room nights in local hotels. Fry says according to a national formula used by their industry, that generated an economic impact of more than $75 million dollars.

Fry told commissioners the E/BCS agency has refocused its efforts on recruiting more events, they are in the process of hiring a new advertising agency and deploying a new marketing strategy, they are developing a community hospitality committee to welcome and assist visitors, and the staff and board are finalizing their first ever long range strategic plan.
