More national figures are coming to Texas A&M University.
A new professional development organization, MSC Bethancourt, is hosting former first lady Laura Bush and CNN Top Ten Hero Razia Jan for a program on education next Wednesday evening, March 11. There is an admission charge. Click HERE for more information from the MSC box office.

And the Bush School of Government is bringing former Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood to campus March 25th. In addition to delivering a lecture, he will receive the Mosbacher Institute’s Good Governance Award. The event is free and open to the public but reservations are required.

Ray LaHood, former United States Secretary of Transportation, will be at Texas A&M University Bush School to give the 2015 ConocoPhillips White House Lecture on March 25. Known as a bipartisan leader and skilled conciliator, LaHood will speak on the challenges to governing in a highly partisan political environment.
LaHood will also receive the Good Governance Award which recognizes exemplary public service and raises the visibility of advanced and nonpartisan analysis in policymaking. The award is presented by the Mosbacher Institute for Trade, Economics, and Public Policy in the Bush School of Government and Public Service.
A lifelong Republican, LaHood served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1995 until his appointment as Secretary of Transportation in 2009. In Congress, LaHood became known as a skilled debater and negotiator. He served on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and the House Appropriations Committee, where he won praise for being able to bridge sometimes bitter partisan divides in the Congress.
