WACO, Texas (AP) _ Additional charges have been filed against a former Waco day care owner already accused in the death of a toddler who police say was given an over-the-counter drug to make her sleep.
Marian Fraser was being held Friday on $40,000 bail at the McLennan County jail on eight counts of endangering a child. The 49-year-old previously faced multiple charges that include injury to a child causing death.
Police say she gave Benadryl to 11 children without the consent of parents. They say the drug was meant to make the children sleep during naptime.
Four-month-old Clara Felton was found unresponsive March 4th at Spoiled Rotten Daycare. An autopsy revealed she was given a toxic amount of the drug.
Fraser’s attorney, Gerald Villarreal, has previously said his client denies wrongdoing.
