Millican Reservoir Removed From Brazos Region Water Plan

Opponents to the proposed Millican Reservoir have cleared their last hurdle.

The Brazos G Regional Water Planning Group Wednesday removed Millican from its long term plan. The group on Wednesday unanimously agreed to that and to send the regional plan as amended to the Texas Water Development Board.

Administrator Trey Buzbee says one of the factors was College Station’s decision to remove Millican as a future water source. Instead, College Station will look towards the Brazos River.

Buzbee also says the regional group took note of landowner opposition. Two dams associated with Millican would have affected 71,000 acres of land in Brazos and four adjacent counties.
