From Houston to north of Dallas came reports of seeing a bright flash in the sky Friday morning between 6:30 and 7.

Most likely it was a meteor according to Don Carona at the Texas A&M University physics and astronomy observatory.

Carona says based on how many saw the flash, it was probably a lot bigger than the typical debris that passes through the Earth’s atmosphere.

Carona says the next regularly scheduled meteor shower is next Thursday and Friday.

WTAW’s Bill Oliver visits with Don Carona.
