Texas A&M Student Football Ticket Ordering Is Moving To An Online System

Texas A&M students camping in front of Kyle Field for football tickets is now a thing of the past. President Mark Welsh announces going digital starting next season. That follows problems during the ticket pull for the Texas game. Welsh posted on his website he will not risk putting students in danger again. Making the announcement on his website, Welsh says A&M, which is the largest school in the Southeastern Conference, was the only one not utilizing a digital ticket pull option. Welsh also cited a recent survey by A&M’s student government association showing support for digital tickets by 63 percent of students with sports passes. The president also responded to reporter’s questions during a news conference on November 21st. Welsh said he took responsibility for actions that he described were “very un-Aggie” which he considered “surprising and disappointing”. Street Sign Historical Markers Taken In A College Station Neighborhood

The College Station police department is asking for public assistance in finding street sign historical markers have been removed. What are called “street sign toppers” are missing from 12 street poles in the McCulloch historical district, which is located near Lincoln recreation center. The signs were purchased by residents who held fundraisers. A CSPD Facebook post says it is believed the sign toppers have been removed during the last one to two months. The post asks those who have or know those who have the sign toppers to take them to the police department. CSPD is also asking for photos and/or videos of the thefts.

Bryan ISD School Board Members Discuss Results Of An Annual State Financial Report

For the 22nd consecutive year, Bryan ISD receives the highest financial rating from the Texas Education Agency (TEA). The “FIRST” report was discussed during the Bryan ISD school board meeting on December 2nd as part of a required public hearing associated with what the TEA calls the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas report. Reacting to no one appearing at the public hearing, which was held during the noon hour on the Monday following Thanksgiving, board member Leo Gonzalez said “it is amazing how much I get asked about this…and they ask so many questions and yet when we have somebody here that could answer them we don’t have anyone show up to ask the questions. It’s a little frustrating.” Board president David Stasny asked about the percentage BISD spends on administrators, which he says is a question he is asked. Assistant superintendent Kevin Beesaw confirmed BISD spends 7.5% percent on administration, which is low enough to receive the state’s maximum score in that area.
