Man Arrested at Northgate for Aggravated Assault

College Station police responded to the Northgate district after the bars closed for a report of a fight involving a gun.

According to the CSPD news release, when officers arrived at Boyett Street around 2:30 a.m., two people had just been separated by others at the scene.

Officers learned one man had pulled a handgun and threatened others causing the victim to run away. The suspect put the gun away, chased the victim and then began fighting the victim.

23 year-old Levi Whisenant of Decatur was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. No injuries were reported.

News release from CSPD:

On December 6, 2019 at approximately 0227 hours, Officers responded to the 100 block of Boyett Street for a report of a fight in progress involving a gun. When Officers arrived, two individuals had just been separated by 3rd party citizens. Upon investigation, it was learned that one individual involved in the fight had just pulled a pistol and threatened the others involved. A few moments later, the victim ran from the suspect with the handgun. The suspect had just put the gun away and chased the victim and then began fighting the victim in the 100 block of Boyett Street. The suspect was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault – Deadly Weapon. A loaded 9mm Beretta 92F handgun was recovered in relation to this incident.

Aggravated Assault – Deadly weapon is Felony of the 1st Degree. First Degree Felonies are punishable by confinement not to exceed 99 years or less than 5 years and a fine up to $10,000
