A Louisiana man who entered a plea agreement with the Brazos County district attorney’s office this month after admitting to aggravated promotion of prostitution and bail jumping denies he was involved in human trafficking.

According to a DPS arrest report, a prostitute who was found outside a College Station hotel in August of 2016 thanked them for saving her life and said she was a victim of human trafficking.

The man she was with, 36 year old Herman Fox of Baton Rouge, was sentenced last week to 30 years in prison.

After the court appearance, Fox’s lawyer issued a statement saying charges of human trafficking and forcing the woman to commit prostitution were part of an embellished story by the woman.

The statement made no reference to the DPS arrest report where troopers confirmed the woman had broken ribs, which she said was the result of Fox beating her in a Bryan motel room five days before she was found outside a College Station motel.

Fox said the woman was trying to stay out of legal trouble by lying about what happened.
