Longtime Brazos County Crime Stoppers Board Member Retires

From Brazos County Crime Stoppers:

Robert G. Crawford Sr. recently announced in an e-mail to the Crime Stoppers Board of Directors that he planned to resign his position as Chairman of the Board effective immediately.

Robert was first appointed to the Crime Stoppers Board in 1998 and has served continuously since that time. In 2012 Robert was elected to serve as the Vice Chairman for the Board and in 2013 he assumed the position of Chairman. Robert recently retired from working with the City of Bryan Utilities for 20 years.

Brazos County Crime Stoppers is a 501(c)(3) Non-profit Organization set up in our community to provide an opportunity for people to share information with local law enforcement anonymously through the use of telephone, e-mail or texting. If any information that is provided by an informant leads to an arrest or seizure the informant is eligible to receive a reward. The Crime Stopper Board is made up of citizens from our community, it is their responsibility to raise money to help operate the program, pay the rewards and to promote the program.

He has clearly demonstrated his willingness to help make our community safer and the leadership to get the job done. On behalf of the Board, I thank him for his commitment to Crime Stoppers and wish him well.”
