For the second time in six years, a local woman is arrested on charges of taking thousands of dollars of merchandise from a College Station retail store during the holiday shopping season.

35 year old Constance Joy Taylor is accused of taking almost $3,800 dollars of items while she was an employee at the new “At Home” store.

According to the arrest report, Taylor and a second unidentified employee teamed up to used store registers to take 277 items out of the store without the alert system being activated.

The store’s video system captured nearly all the 185 transactions between December 5 and January 12.

According to online court records, Taylor was released from probation last May after pleading guilty to felony theft in May 2015.

That was for stealing almost $5,400 dollars in merchandise from the College Station Wal-Mart between November 2012 and January 2013.

In that case, Taylor was ordered to pay full restitution and a $2,000 dollar fine, along with performing two hundred hours of community service.

Following this week’s arrest, Taylor is out of jail after posting a $5,000 dollar bond.
