Weekend law enforcement action included arrests following two chases.
No injuries were reported from either pursuit.
Friday night (October 6), a parks and wildlife warden says a pursuit reached 98 miles per hour during a more three mile chase between Lake Bryan and Benchley. And a deputy who assisted reported his vehicle was struck. 23 year old Moises Rivera-Marquez was also arrested on three warrants, one which was a motion to revoke probation on a drug conviction. As of Monday (October 9), Marquez was jailed and held without bond on two of the three warrants.
And Saturday morning (October 7) during the one o’clock hour, a College Station patrol officer estimated a motorcyclist was doing 80 on University approaching the Northgate district. Two other officers caught the motorcyclist at University and Boyett. 27 year old Timothy Burkhalter of Bryan was arrested for evading after speeding past the patrol S-U-V then changing lanes without signaling. Burkhalter is out of jail after posting a $5,000 dollar bond.
