Local Drivers Arrested For DWI With Prior Convictions

A College Station man is out of jail on bond following an arrest for DWI with three prior convictions. 36 year old Charles Phelps is accused of causing a hit and run crash in west Bryan at Harvey Mitchell and Highway 21 during the afternoon commute last Thursday. According to the arrest report, Phelps vehicle was stopped at Harvey Mitchell and George Bush. No one was injured from the collision.

A two vehicle crash Friday night on University near Lincoln resulted in the arrest of a College Station man for DWI with two prior convictions. Witnesses told College Station police a vehicle driven by 27 year old Paul Silvia failed to yield the right of way and struck by a car that wound up in a ditch. Two people in the car were taken to the hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries. While the officer’s arrest report listed examples of Silvia being intoxicated, the driver said he had not been drinking or taking narcotic drugs. Silvia is out of jail after posting an $8,000 dollar bond.
