Local Arrests On Charges Of Using Someone Else’s Debit Card, Attempting To Take A Sports Car, And Entering A Stranger’s Apartment

College Station police learns that employees at Chase banks in Bryan and College Station spread the word about a man trying to withdraw $8,000 dollars with a stolen debit card. After the man wearing a COVID mask ran out of the second bank with $500 dollars he got out of an A-T-M machine, CSPD officers caught up to him in a parking lot. The cash was recovered and the stolen card was found in a drainage grate. 33 year old Antorrean Henry from Chicago is out of jail after posting bonds totaling $23,000 dollars for debit card abuse and evidence tampering by trying to hide the card, and a warrant from Montgomery County for illegal possession of identifying items.

Bryan police and fire and the Brazos County sheriff’s office all had a presence at what was first reported as a disturbance at a home in the Miramont neighborhood. The Bryan police arrest report says a man went to jail on robbery and assault charges. 27 year old Drake Carnes is accused of trying to take an $85,000 dollar sports car and assault the owner by making a threat. Carnes is also accused of resisting arrest, punching the cheek of one of five officers at the scene, shoving a second officer into a wall, and ripping a body camera off a third officer. As of April 9, Carnes remained in jail in lieu of bonds totaling $23,500 dollars.

A woman tells Bryan police that she went to her father’s apartment to check on him, and finds a stranger in a closet. The stranger tells officers according to the BPD arrest report that he was looking for his wife. It took two officers to place the man into custody, and the man was treated for a cut near his right eyebrow. 62 year old Leonard McGruder of Bryan was taken to jail on charges of criminal trespassing and resisting and evading arrest. As of April 9, McGruder remains in jail in lieu of bonds totaling $12,000 dollars.
