Local Arrests On Assault Charges

A Houston man is in the Brazos County for the second time in two weeks, the fourth time since July, and the tenth time in four and a half years. College Station police arrested 24 year old Trey Burleson last Saturday afternoon for stabbing one family member with a pocketknife, threatening another family member with two pocketknives, and striking an employee of a local hotel on the head with a rock about the size of a softball. The employee of the E-Z Travel Inn was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. According to the arrest report, the disturbance began while kids were watching cartoons.

A Bryan man remains in jail following his arrest last Friday on a charge of injuring his ten month old niece. According to the arrest report from Bryan police, 17 year old Zephaniah Smith was told to get out of SUV for being rude to those in the vehicle. After getting out, Smith told officers he grabbed a large rock and threw it at the SUV, shattering the windshield. Smith also said he did not mean to hurt his niece, who was taken to the hospital to remove glass shavings from her eyes and to be treated for glass cuts elsewhere on her face. The child’s parents and three other children inside the vehicle were not injured.

A Bryan woman awaiting trial on a misdemeanor family violence charge from an incident in April was arrested last Friday night on charges of assaulting the same victim. Witnesses told Bryan police…according to the arrest report…that 26 year old Kristina Moak struck the victim in the groin with a shovel handle, threw a landscaping rock that appeared to hit the victim in the head, and struck him in multiple locations with a broken broomstick. The victim was treated at the scene by firefighter EMT’s.

An arrest was made last week in an August assault of a pizza delivery driver. According to the arrest report from College Station police, 44 year old Michael Lawrence Wells of Burnet was laughing after punching the driver three times in the face. Wells told officers the red knuckles and bloody spot on his right hand came from moving his son into his home. Wells is out of jail after posting bond on the misdemeanor charge. There was no mention of the driver receiving any medical treatment for a bloody nose and bruised face. The driver told officers he needed to return to work.
