College Station Police Investigating Fatality Crash

College Station police is investigating a two vehicle crash at Texas Avenue and Southwest Parkway that resulted in one death and three injuries. A post on CSPD’s Facebook page says a passenger in a car was killed. The driver of the car was taken to the hospital where their condition is unknown. The person who died was identified as 80 year old Margie Berry Smith of Bryan. Smith’s husband, who drove the car, remains hospitalized. The Smith’s family dog was found deceased inside their car. The driver and a passenger in the pickup were treated for minor injuries. The cause of the crash still remains under investigation. The intersection was closed for the better part of three hours as CSPD’s investigation, employing the department’s accident reconstruction, crime scene, and criminal investigations teams were on the scene.

Students Arrested In Assault Cases On CSISD & BISD Campuses And A Man Arrested For Taking Improper Photos Inside A Mall Store

Three Brazos County sheriff’s deputies responded to an assault that took place Wednesday (November 13) at College Station High School. A College Station ISD spokesman says one of students involved in an altercation was taken to the hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries and released. The other student was arrested for assault and taken to the juvenile detention center. Staff broke up the fight that cook place in the CSHS cafeteria. A Bryan police officer at Davila Middle School was notified of what BPD records show was a felony assault. A BPD spokesman says an unidentified employee was injured on Tuesday (November 12) while breaking up a fight between students. One student was arrested for the assault and taken to the juvenile detention center. The employee did not require medical treatment. In a separate incident at an undisclosed Bryan ISD campus, Bryan police responded to a report of a possible threat. A BPD spokesman says it was determined that the threat was not legitimate and the BISD administration was advised of the incident. College Station police on Tuesday (November 12) arrest a man who last August was taking improper photos inside a store at the mall of female employees and customers. The CSPD arrest report says video from the store showed 22 year old Fredy Ajsac was behind multiple women while standing or bending down with his phone at an unnatural angle. Online jail records show Ajsac (EYE-SACK) is also being held for immigration authorities.

Some Water Customers Will Be Getting A Letter Regarding The Materials Used In Manufacturing Their Waterlines

November’s Bryan city council workshop meeting included a presentation about the city complying with new federal requirements intended to eliminate waterlines containing lead. Public works director Jayson Barfknecht reported there were 36,446 addresses where there are water service lines where the city is responsible for determining if lead and/or galvanized materials were used in the manufacturing process. The water lines includes those on the city side of the meter and on the property owner’s side as far as outside the home. Barfknecht said the city is not responsible for determining the composition of indoor plumbing. Out of the 36,446 addresses, Barfknecht said the city has no city lines containing lead. There are 15,910 addresses where there is no lead pipes on the property owner’s side of the meter. There are 17,759 addresses where the composition of the water line is unknown. Those occupants will be receiving a letter from the city. There are 2,775 addresses of vacant buildings. And there are two locations where there are galvanized waterlines where city staff will be contacting property owners. Barfknecht says waterlines that can not be confirmed that were made from lead and galvanized materials, they will have to be replaced within ten years.
