Lawyers Representing Man Arrested In Rockies Grill And Saloon Standoff Issue A News Release

The Bryan man in jail following a 16 hour standoff with law enforcement at Rockies Grill and Saloon in College Station has a team of defense attorneys.

A news release issued on behalf of Michael Blake Jones by Houston lawyer Brent Mayr states in part his client is incredibly remorseful for the impact his actions had on so many people.

During an interview with WTAW News, Mayr was asked why Jones did what he did. Mayr said “That’s going to be a question that we’re going to be spending some time delving into, to find what the answer is.”

Mayr also confirmed that Jones had an informal co-ownership with the woman who Jones is accused of assaulting.

Mayr says family members and friends are working together to repair the damage, which he described as cleaning the debris left following the incident.

Jones is jailed on bonds totaling $750,000 dollars on three felony charges.

News release issued by Brent Mayr on behalf of Michael Blake Jones:

“Our client is incredibly remorseful for the impact his actions had on so many people—his family, friends, the community, and, most importantly, law enforcement.

He never intended to harm anyone, especially any peace officers or public servants.

He has gone through an incredibly difficult time over the past six months including experiencing the death of two close family members.

Despite all this, he has a number of family members and loved ones who are standing behind and supporting him.”

Michael Jones’ father, Larry Jones of Bryan, is incredibly relieved and thankful no one was injured in the incident. He wanted to assure others that his son is a kind-hearted individual and that nothing like what took place on Monday will happen again.

Michael Jones remains in the Brazos County Jail and does not have any court dates or appearances scheduled at this time.

Michael Jones is the co-owner of Rockies and the establishment had been closed at the time of the incident.

Family members and friends are working together to repair the damages.
