A Bryan woman arrested last Sunday was her fifth since April and 24th since 1999. 37 year old April Thurman remains in jail, where she is accused of driving away from a Bryan deputy fire marshal. According to the arrest report from Bryan police, the fire investigator was trying to interview Thurman about a vehicle arson when she got in her SUV and struck the fire department’s pickup truck. She was also arrested for driving with an invalid license with two prior convictions.
While in jail, Thurman was also arrested on charges from an disturbance last April where she is accused of beating, shoving, and pushing her 80 year old mother to the floor…then hit her 73 year old stepfather in the head with picture frames, kicked him in the chest, and pushed him to the ground. According to that arrest report, Thurman said she never assaulted her mother or stepfather.
A College Station man released from jail five weeks ago after serving time for four misdemeanor crimes returned to the detention center last weekend. 21 year old Quinterrious Owens was arrested by Bryan police for violating a criminal trespassing order at his ex-girlfriend’s apartment, then resisting arrest. According to online court records, Owens pleaded guilty to the misdemeanors, three which resulted in punishment of six months and one with a sentence of nine months. But Owens was released after serving five weeks. At the time of his latest arrest, Owens was on probation for possessing PCP. According to online jail records, Owens has been arrested eight times since June 2014.
