COLLEGE STATION, Texas– Texas A&M Senior Breeja Larson earned National Collegiate Swimmer of the Week honors for her performance against Texas in College Station, Counsilman-Hunsaker CollegeSwimming.com announced Monday.
Larson’s 21 individual points were extremely valuable in the 152-148 victory over the rival Longhorns. The Mesa, Ariz., native won the 100 breaststroke in NCAA ‘A’ cut fashion in 59.23 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:10.22 (NCAA ‘B’ cut), and also chipped in a third-place finish in the 200 IM in 2:03.84. Larson also contributed to the 200 medley relay win with a breaststroke leg of 27.28 (1:39.91), helping to add another 11 points for the Aggies. Larson is the two-time defending national champion in the 100 breast, a 2012 Olympic gold medalist, and has received collegeswimming.com Swimmer of the Week multiple times.

Larson will return to action on Friday, Nov. 1 as the Aggies take on the University of Missouri in Columbia, Mo.
