Expect lane shifts on Briarcrest starting 2 pm on Sunday, January 6, as workers remove old striping and replace pavement markings.
Bob Colwell with Texas Department of Transportation says workers will wrap up at 6 am on Monday, but return to work on Monday night.
He expects the painting to be finished by Tuesday morning.
Colwell asks drivers to avoid this area if possible, but says if you must drive on Briarcrest, be prepared for delays and alert for construction personell.
The project, contracted to Bryan’s Knife River and part of a 4.7 million dollar project, will add turn lanes, a center median, and improve sidewalks.
Colwell says the changes should reduce the accidents and allow traffic to move more freely when it is finished in late August.
