Land Acquisition Complete For Bryan’s New Fire Station #2

The Bryan city council has completed the purchase of land to build the new Fire Station #2.

It is being relocated from Cavitt Avenue to a block bordered by Lawrence and Maloney Streets, a block west of Texas.

The last strip of land being purchased borders the University Inn motel. Fire Chief Randy McGregor responded to a council question that the siren noise won’t be an issue with motel guests.

Construction is scheduled to start next year.

The total cost of the land, including the strip approved this week, is $813,000 dollars.
