Lake Bryan Boat Ramp Closed for Repairs

The boat ramp at Lake Bryan closed Tuesday for routine maintenance and repairs.

David Werley from BTU says there was concrete break off on one side of the ramp.

“What happens over the years with all the boats coming on and off the ramp, the motors cause a lot of turbulence in the water and of course you have wave action as well, and some of the subsoil below the boat ramp has eroded and let the ramp drop down a bit,” said Werley.

Werley said the time frame to reopen the ramp is unknown, but the goal is to have it accessible in the spring. The lake park is still open to the public.

Werley said repairs are still being made to the Lake Bryan dam, which is also expected to be completed in the spring.

Bryan, Texas – The boat ramp at Lake Bryan will be closed beginning Tuesday, December 22, 2015, while improvements are made to the structure. A time frame to reopen the ramp has not yet been determined.

Routine maintenance and general repairs will ensure the safety of patrons who utilize the ramp throughout the year. Heavy daily use can cause degradation of any structure, so BTU will be taking necessary safeguards to keep the ramp in safe condition for boaters.

BTU is dedicated to providing patrons of Lake Bryan a safe and enjoyable environment, and appreciates the public’s patience while this work is being completed.
