True freshman quarterback Kyler Murray (Allen, TX) has been named the starter for Texas A&M’s Halloween game against South Carolina.
Murray, whose father, Kevin, played quarterback for the Aggies from 1983-86, has appeared in 5 games in 2015, completing 17 of 31 pass attempts for 167 yards and one touchdown to go along with two interceptions. He has also rushed 18 times for 124 yards.
Murray replaces sophomore Kyle Allen (Scottsdale, AZ), who has struggled in the Aggies’ previous two games, completing 32 of 74 pass attempts for 351 yards and four interceptions.
