Kyle Field Topping Out Ceremony

Even with one of the wettest stretches in Texas history, the Kyle Field redevelopment project has stayed on track.

Texas A&M Chancellor John Sharp 1,300 construction workers Wednesday night at a topping out ceremony, which marks the last piece of steel being installed.

“We thank you for the 3 million plus man and woman hours that you have put in on this stadium,” said Sharp.

Texas A&M President Michael Young also spoke to the feat of keeping the project on time and on budget.

“We want you to come here every morning, ready to work and you have. But we also want you to go home at the end of the day, we want you to be safe, we want you to be with your family and you have done that too. This has been a remarkable project and we are very proud of what you have done and very grateful,” said Young.

The celebration, held on the field’s east side third deck, was complete with dinner and a raffle for Yeti coolers and power tools.
