SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Texas A&M point guard Jordan Jones was one of 31 players named to the Nancy Lieberman Award Midseason Watch List, an award given to the most outstanding collegiate point guard in women’s basketball.
Jones, a junior from DeSoto, leads the SEC, and ranks 11th in the nation, with 6.7 assists per game, and is fifth on Texas A&M’s career assist list. Jones is averaging 9.4 points on the season.
Last season, Jones set the Texas A&M single season record with 261 assists. Jones has three of the Top 11 single-game assist totals in A&M history, including 15 against Vanderbilt on Jan. 2, the most for an Aggie in an SEC game.
The winner of this award will be presented at the WBCA Award Show in Tampa, Florida at the Women’s Final Four. The award is presented by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
The No. 14 Aggies play at No. 17 Mississippi State on Sunday at 2 p.m., a game televised by SEC Network.
