Jones Shines at National Diving Championships

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Texas A&M diver Hayden Jones had pair of top eight finishes, including a silver medal effort, at the AT&T National Diving Championships last weekend at the University of Iowa.

Jones, from Spring, Texas, tallied the silver medal with a runner-up finish in the three-meter springboard dive with a score of 466.55, just behind winner Samuel Dorman of the Miami Diving Club (487.40). Jones scored at least 62 points on all six dives, including three dives with 89 points or more. His best dive was his second when he scored a remarkable 96.90 point total on a forward 4 ½ somersault tuck.

Jones was also sixth in the one-meter dive with a score of 381.40.
