Classes in Iola ISD were cancelled Monday morning following the disruption of multiple utility services.
Iola ISD’s social media indicated no power, a water shortage, and no phone service.
Classes were cancelled at 11 a.m. and buses began running at 11:30.
Students who could not go home were taken to their respective campus cafeteria or foyer area to wait for pickup.
Monday’s Iola junior high’s basketball games were moved to Snook. The bus to take the players to the game will leave Iola at 3:00 p.m. The games will still begin at 5:00 p.m.
UPDATE: For those wondering about the status of tonight’s Iola elementary school program, Iola ISD’s Facebook page reports the program will take place as scheduled.
