Intoxication Assault Arrest Follows Crash That Closed Highway 21 In East Bryan

From Bryan police:

On April 21, 2018 shortly after 9:00 p.m. Officers responded to the 4100 block of E. State Hwy 21 for a major accident. (The location is east of the freeway in the Castle Heights neighborhood).

A white Chevy pickup truck was disabled in the outside lane. One male occupant was steering the vehicle and two males were pushing the vehicle down the roadway.

A Dodge pickup truck was traveling in the outside lane and struck the vehicle and two persons pushing the vehicle.

All three associated with the disabled vehicle were transported to CHI St. Joseph Hospital. The 18-year-old male steering the vehicle and a 19 year-old-male that was pushing the vehicle had non life-threatening injuries. The other male, a 15-year-old, has life threatening injuries and is in critical condition.

The driver of the other vehicle was arrested for two counts of intoxication assault and has been identified as: Lorenzo Arellano, age 26 of Bryan.

The roadway was closed for approximately 3 hours and has now reopened.
